Not arguing that the video is uncomfortable, but I do feel like I should share some knowledge; they are actually about to cook the fish in the video. Blowfish are filled with powerful toxin the carrot is actually used to nullify those toxins so it is safe for consumption!

Again, I understand not wanting to see it/not finding it funny. I just wanted to educate folks so they know it isn’t just someone randomly torturing a fish and that it’s actually being used as a culinary practice. No good comes from misinformation being spread.

I understand, and this is fine if it weren't being spread around and laughed at, you know? It's being spread around as a meme now, and we really shouldn't laugh at the suffocation and force feeding of creatures, even if for culinary practices.

Yeah! No excuse for that at all. It’s not funny, it’s just part of the process. I just didn’t want the OP who made the original video to be given a bad reputation and called a “fish torturer” :>

Yeah that's understandable! The creator of the video probably did it to help other chefs learn and I'm okay with that! I'm just upset about people laughing at the poor thing, and I know you understand that! That's the whole reason I don't like it being spread ^^;

I was more or less commenting for anyone who just thought it was some mindless teenager hurting an animal. Sharing it as a meme isn’t cool - the original video with its intended purpose is fine.
