They really got rid of Lucas's idle animations and just gave him Ness's. Bottom tier character. Dropped

They probably made ness keep his. Smh @ Nintendo for trying to make people think they're the same character
To be honest, it feels like pure laziness to me. I was hoping they’d bring back Lucas’ old clapping animation from Brawl but of course, it’s Ness’ again.
