Light and strong lithium/aluminium alloy. However, that trunk is light and relative large. It don’t fall fast. If you drop plastic kids swimming-pool, it will survive too.

@elonmusk First off, wow. I can't believe you (probably inadvertently) took my joke seriously (D2 in net)! More importantly though, does this photo here mean possible trunk reuse (or maybe trunk referbishment as the electronics are all probably messed up if not completely broken) -
Just in case of an abort, otherwise the trunk will burn up in the atmosphere
