Made some 'Super Mario Bros. 2' fanart!: A mix of classic Mario and classic Fleischer animation. Game's turning 30 this year so that's a fun coincidence.

covid has definitely brought out the ableism in society

The root of the lack of concern for Covid is ableism and it’s really frustrating to me that no one is talking about this. The people most susceptible to dying from Covid have preexisting conditions and this fact makes people more comfortable with their deaths and it’s disgusting

Yuuuup. Carano was not fired. She was simply not re-hired. Her contract was up and they chose not to renew it. The only reason Disney said anything was the deluge of complaints forced them to make it clear she had nothing to do with them anymore.

Sometimes I be thinking about how white liberals scapeogoat the South for racism, as if Oregon and Maine just fell out of the sky fully formed.

The deeper story of this Gina Carano firing is that conservatives are openly telling us that being racist/anti-Semitic/homophobic is an integral part of conservatism, thus “Carano was fired for being a conservative.” I mean she wasn’t fired for her position on regulations, folks.

Palpatine didn't give the order to wipe out all of the Jedi. Okay, he did but he was being metaphorical. Okay, he wasn't but he was just joking. Okay, he wasn't joking but not ALL of the Jedi were wiped out anyway, so it doesn't count. It's time to heal and move on.

But the next three episodes could totally knock me off the couch, and I take it all back. But part of me, currently, would've liked for the explainy-explainy fourth episode to have happened after this one.

I enjoyed the latest 'WandaVision' episode, but I think it would've been even more effective and creepier if we still haven't really seen SWORD yet. Only hints like "Geraldine", the beekeeper, the toy helicopter, etc. The sitcom suburban just continues to seem kind of "off".

It’s conservative in a very literal sense, resistant to change. It will always keep doing what makes money. It will never take any risks. And if an actor or director becomes a problem, a liability, that’s it for them.

Hollywood is SO conservative you guys. A lot of actors and directors are liberal, and some are leftist, but at the end of the day it’s all about capitalism and what will sell. It’s VERY conservative.

Hollywood is of course famously hostile to conservatives and racists which is exactly why they really stuck it to Mel Gibson by nominating him for an Oscar in 2016

This image needs to be translated because non-Jews rarely understand its meaning. This is an image of Jewish men, the world is depicted as a game they are controlling (classic antisemitic trope that Jews run everything) and they're using non-Jews as slaves to hold up the board.

Kelsey Grammar and John Ratzenberger are conservatives and they still find work with no issue at all. It’s almost as if Gina getting fired is less because of her politics and more because she’s an asshole.

Disney is bigoted against conservatives which is why Chris Pratt will be in 50% of Marvel's currently running franchises and Tim Allen is the star of Pixar's most beloved film series!

speaking kinda generally here rather than specifically wrt the gina carano situation. but if you want my opinion on that, after her anti-mask shite i wouldn't care if they fired her for having ten fingers. fuck off with that

nobody's getting fired for supporting lower taxes or reduced government spending. but conservatives embrace bigoted conspiracy theorists & say "that's us! we're being discriminated against!" hm

actors aren't fired for being 'conservative,' in general. they're fired for being bigoted and sharing dangerous conspiracy theories. it just so happens that there's a large overlap between those things
