You'll find that gets easier as time goes by. I'm a LONGTIME large-L Libertarian (I proudly voted for David Bergland in 1984 & Dr.

in '88!) but my class of 1980 classmates -- both Democrat & Republican -- have largely just accepted it & remained my friends.
