The idea Galatians 2 isn’t abt ethnic supremacy is profoundly wrong. Paul is so clear in his language. Two things behind it: 1. Luther’s exegesis of Galatians still rules & his filters were justification vs. Catholic abuses. limited perspective. 2. Ignorance of Jewish culture.

Arguably, Christians have “ethnicity” markers as well. Baptism, the Lord’s supper, belief in Christ etc all serve to distinguish us, and there is also a “hint” that from the perspective of truth Christians are superior. If you don’t believe that then, why be Christian?

lol, can’t tell if you are trolling or not. I’ll move on. Though all Christians do have a dual citizenship and culture, that of their ethnicity (Ethnos) and that of The Kingdom. Christianity isn’t an ethnicity. Blessings to you

Ok, a question. Do you think Jews were racist?

No Jews aren’t racist. I didn’t say anything remotely close to that. Behind the Judaizer’s principle of gentiles becoming Jews in order to receive Christ was religion/ethnic surpremacy. Speaking abt a specific sect within a community is not labeling entire ethnic community.

It was clearly about more than that. Paul didn’t rebuke a peter over circumcision. Galatians is more complex than you’re recognizing; so is Jewish identity/theology/culture as I said in thread. Agree to disagree, I really desire to move on. I have nothing more to add via twitter.
