[TL;DR: you're in the clear] The way I understand it, the design of a typeface is not copyrightable. What *is* protected is the font file itself, since it's software. So, if you were to include a TTF or OTF file (or whatever) with your game, then you're in trouble.

But, if you were to render it as a bitmap, where all the vector information is gone -- which is exactly what you're doing by converting it to pixels for the Game Boy -- then you're good, since you're not distributing the font file itself.
