It’s not. It’s a distraction intended to divert from the emissions of the product. And they’ve succeeded! They’re only talking about extraction costs, not burning the actual oil.

firstly the global grid needs to be hooked up controled from London secondly the global grid is hooked up for many reasons Hot CO2 Emissions Light Quality Air Quality et by which I mean that we need a holistic diverse emission in to the ecosystem from our Electricity Energy Power

Focus on building storage technologies (for renewables) instead of accepting this semi-status quo Clean generation is, thankfully for a windy island, not an issue

No it isn't—this is a 8massive con trick*, because they're **talking about the extraction process**. The product—oil—will remain as filthy & polluting as ever. A bit like installing LED lighting in an airport terminal & claiming you've 'greened' the airline industry. Disingenuous

Exactly. The 'scope 3' emissions from combustion are 10 times bigger. Is Mr Kwarteng ignorant of this or just finding it inconvenient? In fact increasing the efficiency of extraction lowers prices, extends field lifetime and (I believe) increases total emissions.

What's 'exciting'? Do the sums. To be fair, the oil and gas sector should be completely eliminated by 2030. Please don't be their pussycat. Conserve the Earth.
