show me the size of my trauma. could you place it on a scale between one and ten? and where does yours fit? i want to know the weight of them. the depth. the smell. the density. give it to me in numbers. whose hurts more?

I doubt there is one. But I've been taught that things don't exist unless I can quantify and compare them. I know it's silly but I'll still be looking for a trauma nugget scale so I can validate my messiness and excuse my inability to live up to my own expectations

Obviously things that can't be quantified do exist. Things like aesthetics, morality, and love all exist in some manner, yet can't be quantified and measured because there's nothing to directly compare them to. Also there's the whole field of qualitative research.

I don't think it makes sense to measure things related to our 1st person subjective phenomonology. Even when we answer a question like 'rate your pain on a scale 1-10' it's still not a reliable measure.
