i'm so frustrated. i just found out why my 720p renders looks blurry as fuck. avc codec. channels with higher view-counts get a codec called vp9 which is significantly clearer at 720p and 1080p. @TeamYouTube is there any way to manually enable vp9?

it isnt an issue, it for compression reasons. if you want vp9 then render in 1440p ;/ all i can really say

go onto any of stimpy's or anyone else's old 720p videos, all vp9. only difference is viewcount.

yes they get to be higher quality because more people are gonna see them/more people have seen them. that is so they can save space.
