    I am 100% on-board with & 's new campaign to end for-profit prisons. I'm very glad to hear that will no longer be accepting private prison money.

    The latest episode is worth a listen — mocks the movement and laughs about donations she received from (now ) and . (The money had no influence on her she said.)

    Today is election day and is running for District Attorney in San Diego. She wants to end mass incarceration, disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline, and serve our most marginalized communities. Everyone get out and vote! She is the change we need.

    Since 1980, California has built 23 prisons, but only 4 universities and 9 community colleges. Housing one prisoner annually in California costs more than a year at Harvard. These priorities are backward. We should be investing in educating our youth, not incarcerating them.
