NY has one of the lowest voter turnout rates in the country. New York is also one of the only states in the US that doesn’t allow:
- early voting
- no-excuse absentee voting
- Same Day registration or
- open primaries

Open primaries create a ' careful what you wish for' scenario. R's can vote in D primary and help a D candidate that may be more likely to lose to the R.
