I'm calling on the Justice Dep. to immediately open a federal civil rights investigation into the 2 Black churches in DC targeted by Proud Boys and white supremacists. The burning of #BlackLivesMatter signs and acts of violence likely violate the Church Arson Prevention Act.

We don’t worship the same God and they know it. That’s why there is no reverence. Never was.

It's so easy for them to attack Black safe spaces. It's straight out Jim Crow. If history teaches any lessons, minorities may face future laws that will make it harder for us to exist.
We have to vote like our lives depend on it. We got Trump out of power and we can tamp down the rest of this movement as well. We have legal tools that our ancestors did not have and fought to put in place for us.
It’s not just that they burned it, but they were there with lighter fluid, prepared to burn things. Purposeful. Intentional acts of terrorizism. Who brings lighter fluid to a march.
