Under these new restrictions, Texas voters who vote by mail will now be dozens of miles away from the nearest drop off location, forced to travel long distances to their county’s election office or must put their ballots in the care of an overburdened USPS. This is DISCRIMINATORY
In the midst of an election that is already underway, Gov. Abbott's decision to change the status quo and force new burdens on voters is unreasonable, unfair, and unconstitutional. Access to ballot drop-off locations has proven critical amid the ongoing pandemic.
Abbott made this reckless decision even though Texas has been among the states impacted most severely by #COVID. More than 1 in 10 of the nation’s cases are in Texas—nearly 770K in total.
Why is Abbott forcing Texans to choose between their health and the right to vote?
