Roger Stone. Found guilty by a jury on 7 federal criminal counts. No jail time. Kalief Browder. Accused of stealing a backpack. Couldn’t post bail. Spent 3 years at Riker’s awaiting trial. Ultimately committed suicide after released. We have two justice systems in our country.pic.twitter.com/AjIYgAgNOm

We have one system. Justice doesn't factor in.

Unfortunately it does. The US judicial system is broken. I don’t have any issue with Stone pardon but i also think it wrong if its true that the chap referenced suffered what he did leading to his suicide.

Saying "committed suicide" perpetuates stigma surrounding mental health. Could you say "died by suicide" instead?

Neither of these men received anything resembling justice. Kalief Browder should be alive and Roger Stone should be in prison.

I also think that it was due to being put in solitary confinement that caused his mental anguish, being in Solitary is form of torture. Too young to be subjected to this. It’s heartbreaking.

It’s doesn’t matter if he was in solitary, he shouldn’t have to be in jail if he stole a goddamn backpack, probably not a flight risk with mental health issues, our current system makes black and Latino people suffer whilst rich white oligarchs get a jail out of free card
