I would like to call to public attention recently disturbing reports of disproportionately high death rates observed in the black population. We need to call on all elected officials to mandate transparency of racial, ethnic and socioeconomic data for all patients with COVID19

As an African American physician, it is distressing to see states with a population of less than 30% black citizens be greater than 70% of COVID patients who die. Only 9/50 states at this point report and stratify their COVID cases by race.

I would like to thank @ewarren, @AyannaPressley, @KamalaHarris, @CoryBooker, and @RobinLynneKelly for penning a letter to @SecAzar to monitor and address this deadly disparity. If you are a citizen of the U.S. and care for equality of ALL people... this is OUR problem
