We have sent troops halfway around the world in order to fight for democracy, yet in our own country we have leaders who want to criminalize helping people register to vote. Let that sink in.

I’d like to count everyone for the the large amount of funds we’ll take in as a state in proportion to the low tax dollars we pony up, but if everyone wants to vote then that’s beyond the pale.

I'm not a fan of the bill and hope it's struck down, but I have a question. Why not sign people up directly online at state site as work around to paper app.

Not all states have online registration. I'm not sure about Tennessee, but in my state you have to mail in the application or fill-out/turn-in the application in person.
