Lunch regardless of the ability to pay should be the policy everywhere. I didn't realize how some administrators are making the lunchroom ladies do their dirty work. This breaks my heart.Everywhere I look in this country I see suffering and cruelty.
I hope you're holding the correct people responsible. The lunch ladies at the school I worked at were under constant pressure to make sure "nobody was getting away without paying." Would even get in trouble for taking money from their own pocket to make up the difference.
And they would have blamed the lunch ladies in a heartbeat if denying meals turned into something that made the school look bad. Say they needed retraining, or that their actions don't represent the school (when the school was asking them to do it in the first place.)
