Growth of k8s community is predicated on approachability. IRC is too hard. Engagement skyrocketed when we switched to slack.

it is a shame, though, that
@SlackHQ isn't interested in supporting Kubernetes. -
I agree.. I wish
@SlackHQ would help us it.. I would write all the code for slack on k8s
-
If we got ~50 K8s ecosystem companies to pay $4-5K / year, $225K could be paid fairly easily.
@sarahnovotny@dankohn1 -
Except it would be insane. And we could use that $225k for other things.
-
could probably develop your own service for that price. running on k8s of course
-
I admire your enthusiasm, but perhaps you're underestimating the cost of your own labor

@stewart explicitly rejected a request from@cra for@kubernetesio because the@linuxfoundation is a 501(c)(6) not a 501(c)(3) -
How long ago did you put in the request? We recently opened it up to 501(c)(6)s.
-
9 months ago. Fantastic news! We'll reapply now.

@jbeda Cool. I check into it. We'll def make mistakes sometimes; the volume of requests is pretty extreme. -
