    We can build organisms cell by cell, but this is extremely tedious. We also have a quick-and-dirty method of layering skin and heart muscle tissues like an Oreo and then carving out the body using a 13μm microcautery electrode (D).

    Hi Janelle! Oh jeez, there were quite a few bloopers. For example, we attempted to build a T-shaped design that kept popping up in our sims. It did not come out well.

    Good question. Xenobots already tend to push particles in their environment into piles. So: release a Xenoswarm into the ocean to aggregate microplastics into a macro ball of plastic, which can then be gathered by a traditional (nonliving) robot.

    Sim2real has been around for over 25 years. Typically, a single design is presupposed and control policies are optimized for it. This is because purposefully changing hardware is much more difficult (laborious/expensive/complicated) than changing software.
