Wait, what changes happened?
How much of a factor do you all think that the removal of ladder points being a major factor has lead to some of the down viewership on Twitch? I know for me, aside from some streamers I enjoy, it’s much less exciting knowing there’s less on the line for ladder finishes.

It happened a lil’ while ago, but basically high ladder finishes don’t matter anymore for competitive play. You don’t accumulate points to qualify for tournaments like it used. You essentially just play ladder for fun now (or practice)

Removal of ladder points killed off watchstone events that were fun to keep tabs on during the last 12ish hours of the season. Some players stopped streaming because of the comp changes. I still enjoy who I enjoy and the fact there are low stakes doesn't impact my entertainment.

The removal simply worked towards deflating the entire viewership. Now when you turn on twitch there are far fewer top players playing at any given time. The upside is the rise of opportunity this vacuum has created for the smaller streamers.

I’ve never watched much. I imagine if you created a league with divisions and a season, that would draw more people. Also give everyone a chance to play their way into the league. Make ladder matter again. This doesn’t have to be complicated. Mirror professional sports leagues.
