I agree. But I'm also lamenting at the difficulty of updating our models of the world. That's a feature but sometimes it can be a bug, especially if we've invested a lot of energy into a particular model of the world. The neural structures we've created will resist change.

I'm really interested in being able to rewrite my models of the world rapidly. But I haven't found any particularly effective exercises for that. Confirmation bias can be a bitch and the nature of cognitive dissonance means you aren't aware of it while you're in it.
