Agreed. I think it's factually an illusion while functionally helpful (mostly). I've found in debates like this one https://www.samharris.org/podcast/item/free-will-revisited … they generally talk past each other.

I believe free will is illusory. Yet I contradict myself by wanting to believe people in crappy circumstances are there by their own doing.
