What...what if I take a loan and use the money to buy drugs? 🤔

People don't take drugs to 'think' they're happy. They do it to feel a certain way.. in that moment. Happiness could be one (MDMA) confidence another (cocaine.. ugh). But then, there are certain drugs - ketamine, for example - that offer a perspective on worries or anxieties..

Recreational drugs temp treat symptoms. They can dull pain, create confidence, joy, creativity, escape etc. Most cause irreparable damage. Better to go to source & create healthy permanent change (if possible). Or just accept that we live in a simulation & it is all meaningless.

Certain drugs offer perspective, empathy, clarity that allow people to find balance - or happiness, if you prefer - in everyday life when the effects have worn off.

I absolutely agree that it is possible, but I think the category of people that use mind expanders like mushrooms, peyote, and ayahuasca is small. Most people just want to dull the pain (mental or physical) with opioids & pain killers.

Yep, not debating level of quantitative usage, damage (start with sugar then alcohol and work your way down on daily deaths..) But MDMA and ketamine, to use two examples, are both being recognised and used in clinical studies, trials. Ultimately: ‘all drugs bad’ is wrong.

Cool. Certainly everything has its place if used correctly with the right intent / conditions.

Also alcohol generally being globally legal & accessible doesn’t make it safe. Its level of acceptance over certain drugs is non-sensical.

If all currently known drugs were discovered tomorrow, alcohol would be banned. I’m not even convinced it would be that popular.

As a regular drug user I can attest. Although, with psychedelics--if you work at it--you can make lasting positive changes. You can do the same thing with meditation, though.
