We are biased toward the future. Nobody thinks there’s anything tragic that we did not exist before we were born. Why worrying about being dead?

To some extent this is understandable given there is indisputably nothing we can do to change the past, but at least an assertion to be made we can arguably do something about the future. If we didn't worry about dying we'd always wait until tomorrow to do that important thing.
