Such a same. I remember when WildStar and ESO where the new MMOs that would bring New life to the genre with a Breath of fresh air and mecanics

i read about games everyday, listen to half a dozen gaming podcasts, and sub to gaming focused YT channels and cant remember ever hearing about Wildstar.

That’s part of the problem; NCSoft did like ZERO marketing for Wildstar

It’s a shame, it had a lot of potential to be a unique MMO. If they didn’t make everything such a grind & hardcore from the get go then they could’ve probably retained a healthy playerbase. I sympathize for Carbine Studios. They did a good job on the game visually.

Yes, that's exactly what made me quit. I spent years hardcore raiding in wow & had had enough- was nothing to do at max level besides the same daily quests! Dungeons were ok but other players made them unbearable.
