The last I saw him was 6 years ago, life took us apart, and Canada brought us back together. With my childhood friend in Montreal.

They dreamed of freedom, so the people of the earth punished them. They dreamed of an open sky & an extended horizon, so nature punished them. When will this curse be lifted? & how many catastrophes will happen to this already torn body? What hope will live under this rubble!

This is a day that cost me a father, a destroyed homeland, prison, persecution, tears, blood, & fifteen years of being away from my loved ones. Wishing the same for every oppressed freedom fighter. Wishing the same for every refugee in refugee camps. Today is a day like no other

Vancouver has a rendezvous with snow given by the mountain to the ocean. In other words, even the mountain is dating and i am shoveling 😏🤦

Once upon the time, a Syrian refugee was helped by amazing Canadians, they gave him hope, a home & a chance for a better future. I hope this cycle continues. Pay it forward was one of the first few terms I learned & now it’s time for me to pay it back. Best Christmas gift ever!

When I was young, I used to breathe football! then life happened, and I could not watch it for many years. This time the air feels different, my national team playing, Canada will be there and I will be in BC cheering and rooting for them. I will be out of coverage for a month.

A picture is worth a ... A legacy is not what we did for ourselves, but what we pass on to the generations. Feeling like my message of peace & harmony is being passed down, does not compare to any feeling in the world. there might be hope for us after all! Love & Light

There, at the other end of the ocean, is my city, and it's known for its apple too! It is the small details that make your morning beautiful and overflowing with nostalgia.

To sleep most of your nights in hotel rooms, and to be on the road always makes you in a constant search for a sense of belonging and a place you can call home...Until then, glad to be in Vancouver again, even if it's only for a couple of weeks.

Glory to Satan, idol of the winds, Who said "NO" in the face of those who said "yes" Who taught humans to tear apart nothingness, "SHE' Who said "NO" thus did not die and remained a soul eternally in pain... "Egyptian Poet; Amal Donqol"

A message to the Mediterranean Sea 🌊 ; may it be heard after the world stopped listening. Haven’t you had enough? Isn’t your beastly fish satisfied and full? Aren't your waves tired? Why have you turned into a cemetery that has an infinite number of graves?...

Short summers, warm snow! Where moose run to you lovingly, Where the rightful owners of the land welcome you with open arms! Where the air glows with Indigenous pride. Where people say so many unnecessary sorry's. Here is to our multicultural Canada, our forever home Happy 🇨🇦 day

As an Iraq-born Brit I’m not entitled to a US visa waver so this morning I attended a visa appointment at the US embassy and the only question I was asked in the interview at the counter was, I shit you not: “Are you Saddam Hussein’s son?” America babe, u ok?

What is more painful? A regime that bombs schools? Or an excellent education system with high end schools that’s gets it’s children killed. In both scenarios only children and families are affected, betrayed and left to suffer for power and profit. #GunControlNow

Princeton, Tulameen and Coalmont, small breathtaking towns. The flood took everything except their smiles and kindness The crisis unified them and showd them the way back.
