After the last teargas attack, police left and the protesters they attacked for an hour and a half to prevent them from occupying the streets of Central are now flooding back.pic.twitter.com/3rJIiWKNql

Police now advancing eastward from Sheung Wan to Central on Des Voeux Rd & shooting teargas at a mostly empty street. Most protesters have gotten the warning & cleared out.pic.twitter.com/aiZ86IQjXt

For all of the Bank of China branches ‘renovated’ around #HK, this is the first time I’ve seen the old BoC HQ building spraypainted, windows broken.pic.twitter.com/EtFX9GMyCI
The exodus from Central to Admiralty. I thought police would wait til evening to attack us, but after lunch, numbers dropped as people returned to work. At a crucial moment to escalate, #HK people blinked. Now we’re on the run again.pic.twitter.com/WaClduenKR

In the 2nd major crackdown on pro-democracy leaders since protests began, 7 Legco members appeared in court to face charges of violating Legco’s Powers & Privileges Ordinance. Released on bail. Next hearing: Jan 13https://news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/component/k2/1491345-20191111.htm?spTabChangeable=0 …
Important context: court threw out govt case against Long Hair on grounds Legco members couldn’t be tried under the Ordinance as it was to protect Legco members from non-members. Now govt’s back at it again, 7 more times!
20 pro-democracy Legco members have faced 30 trials since #UmbrellaMovement, out of about 28 total. Imagine a place where govt has put 2/3 of the parliamentary opposition on trial. That place is #HK. No wonder people protest.
I think it’s important that pro-democracy figures and politicians publicly condemn this act, not only to make it clear that it is unacceptable but also to make sure that Carrie Lam and her cronies can’t take full advantage of this situation as they will no doubt try to do
There are incidents almost every day that a pro-dem press conference could address. Also could dispel ludicrous claims that the shooting this morning was related to a school bus incident. Injuries sustained to burn victim likely less serious than many of the knife attacks.
