Komodo Developers Hacked SafeCoin #kmd #safecoin #safe #komodo @SafeCoins @KomodoPlatformhttp://youtu.be/safa0Dh0Ba8?a
1/2 It wasn't hacked. The coin was mined according to consensus rules in effect. When it was realized unSAFE was subject to old bugs, mining was stopped, JL777 went into their discord to explain how to fix it.

Look at the screenshots of the discussions. Your developers were laughing about it all. That is highly unprofessional.

2/2 If it was a hack then the diff would have been in the trillions with millions of coins mined and JL777 would certainly not be going into their discord to explain how to fix it. The danger was that anybody could have done this and caused a real problem.

I'm looking at lots of discussions in the official Komodo slack of people discussing doing all of this and laughing about it.
-
It's important to understand they ignored advice on fixing security holes. That was explained in the post we linked.
-
That doesn't justify what you did. Not in the slightest. Komodo's focus should be Komodo. It is not your responsiblity to exploit another coin and cause carnage simply because they ignored your advice.
-
It's not an exploit. The coin was mined according to consensus rules in effect. When it was realized unSAFE was subject to old bugs, mining was stopped, JL777 went into their discord to explain how to fix it.

So would you be happy with others doing the same thing with Komodo if a similar bug was found? Would you be happy with millions of KMD being mined by SafeCoin? You can spin this many ways, but this did more harm to the cryptocurrency community than good.
