Its not about the creators man. It makes sense from a corporate greed standpoint though.

That's the only way to make sense of it. They want to value mainstream media over the individuals who grew youtube from the ground up. It's like euthanizing the sled dogs who pulled you to the top of a mountain so you can hold up a sign promoting Hollywood.
