The machine learning bit is what Im worried about. So we let an algorithm choose what is for kids and what isnt? This is getting ridiculous.

Agreed. Machine learning is terribly fallible. Instead, they should have "Kids accounts" where the ACCOUNTS will not see any ads. No need to penalize creators!

They have youtube kids already. The problem is Youtube was sued recently for data mining underaged viewers who were on standard accounts. So theyre reacting to the lawsuit.

I've seen some things on YouTube Kids that are VERY inappropriate for kids. They need to axe the machine learning and take responsibility and do it the legit way. No shortcuts.

Boo hoo. :) Think channels, not videos. A kid-friendly channel should have their videos whitelisted. No need for people to watch everything. A creator who makes family friendly stuff isn't going to suddenly change format, and if they do, then they lose their whitelist status

Can confirm. Most of the changes will be based on who marks their videos for kids. Which the channel does manually
