These data are punishing the
#fakenews media journalists. Smokers are 5 to 10 times less likely to be hospitalised w/ coronavirus than non-smokers. https://twitter.com/KlausKblog/status/1249018908289441796 …pic.twitter.com/otXIFc2902

The graphic shows
#covid19 patients admitted to hospital. Top row: 1 No. of deaths, 2 No. of ICUs, 3 No. of non-ICUs, 4 Total no. of patients. (so 4 minus (1+2+3) must be the no. of discharged) Bottom row: Same as top in % (blue: smoker; green: non-smoker; yell: unknown)pic.twitter.com/2ssFBSTYV4

That sure would be a blow to public health advocates!

OR smokers are already so dead in the lungs that COVID has not receptors, so to speak. Maybe the tar is not in the virus' habitable zone.

Klaus, are the figures available anywhere? I can only guess by the graphs and can`t find the raw data. I would like to add it to my graphic of all countries/Studies. Merci

The raw data hasn't been released, it seems. From the numbers in the report however, it is possible to estimate a rate of hospitalised smokers to about 3 to 4% of the covid19 patients, but it needs confirmation. Can any French twitterers ask the researchers for the numbers?

Also, the smoking prevalence figure used for comparison should be for that age group ie MUCH lower I suspect
