2/n: In this graphic, we show there is a gradient of antibodies that are needed to protect the lung (severe disease) vs the nose (mild disease/transmission). Basically: More antibodies = Better protection, higher up in the respiratory tract As it goes: “It’s level to dis”

OK y'all. A Black woman at the testing site wasn't planning on getting her vaccine. We chatted & I told her that (another Black woman) helped create version. She looked her up online &...surprise...is now getting her jab. The messenger matters!

Please. Pretty please. With a cherry on top. I’m still begging. That’s just where I am. I have the data in a thread on my page but at this point… just please go. To. Day.

talks about SARS2 mRNA vaccines with a prototype pathogen preparedness approach. This means that studying one member of a group can greatly inform response to new viruses.

The final talk of will be given by . She helped to save the world from COVID-19 by contributing to the development of the Moderna vaccine. What an amazing story to hear! She’s an alumna of M&I , where inspired her to study Coronas.

6/n: Update: My ICU waiting room friend lost her husband to COVID. Yesterday, I grieved her husband like I would grieve an uncle. I can only imagine what the ICU docs and nurses have been through for 1.5 years.

Me: I need to support my family and be present during this disaster. Also me: I need to write an op-Ed from the ER about my experience. 😕 turning off “science brain” is very hard.

Kizzy thanks for what you do. I will never forget seeing you on CNN in the spring of 2020 predicting vaccine by January. I cried at that prediction and was proud of you as a fellow NC person! That must be hard to watch

5/n: Please go get vaccinated, y’all. Please. That’s it. I’m beyond the point of not begging. Just go. If you are able-bodied… go. *end rant*

4/n: I am a COVID vaccine inventor. … In Louisiana… a “hot-spot”… watching the virus do what viruses do. … Feeling helpless because people are opting out of the vaccine. I um… I… I don’t have the words.

1/n: I’m in Louisiana for a non-COVID family emergency. Said emergency makes me visit the ICU every day, three times a day. Been here since Saturday, and in the process I’ve seen A LOT.

Hawaii obviously has COVID precautions. Don’t at me. I mean: in general, the trip made me reflect on how viruses (in the right circumstances Ie. 2019) have the luxury of getting free flights with us humans.

I just went to Hawaii and back in 24 hours, with ease. I think about that kind of travel x infinity in the latter parts of 2019 that got us here… To a pandemic. We gotta be more gentle with our Earth, y’all. (I’m included obviously except this was an emergency trip.)
