If anything's a known causal mechanism in biology, it's heritability! So we accept group phenotype differences are "genetic" to the extent the phenotypes have sufficient heritability to account for the observed variance and other factors have not been shown to.

The politicization of science forces an inversion of natural priors. We should assume everything is genetic until proven otherwise, as it turns out to be the primary factor nearly always. Political activists like Turkheimer won't allow it!
