Well, we both know that you have a special gripe against people who deny climate science, which is of course very common among libertarian and conservative talk show hosts. I'm simply saying that generalizing your stance to other areas of science makes you unable to talk to any1.
You ignored what I said. What matters is whether I trust them as honest actors. It's whether or not they are wrong about some science. You can (as in it's not a waste of time) talk to honest people. I don't regard SM as honest. Neither do I regard GG as honest.
I don't know of any evidence that SM or GG or more or less honest than the typical journalist or talk host. I'm explicitly not generalizing or making statistical observations. I say that both SM and GG from observations of their individual specific behavior strikes me as obviously intellectual dishonest individuals who get way too much air time.
I don't really watch or read much of their stuff, so I don't know, but if you have such high standards for journalists or talk hosts then it would seem that you would have problems finding anyone who you would be OK talking to. I'm more flexible I guess.
2 things here: * It's not a matter of having "high standards". It's a matter of having standards at all and me personally, finding SM to not be an honest actor. * People come to different conclusions. Douglas Murray, who I regard as having high intellectual integrity was on SM.
