#OpenScience people: I'm looking for a reference as to why having data & code in a no-questions-asked public repository is a good thing, from the point of view of "The potential replicator shouldn't have to ask or give a reason why they want to verify the analyses"

The ones I'm aware of (but awareness is not my #1 strength) mostly focus on refusals. I'm more interested in the general point that I shouldn't have to even ask, because the act of asking is already putting myself out there (possibly against powerful people).
