Posthuma is wrong. The h² of IQ is about 80% for adults, meaning the best genetic prediction is r = .89. This is about the same as a multiple hour, expensive IQ test. It will quickly become cheaper to 'administer' an IQ test from genomics. Better begin thinking about implicationspic.twitter.com/ncj28l3KRg

Not at all. A 20% IQ predictor will be reported this year. Progress is mostly held back by lack of data sharing and bad methods. If researchers started using proper methods, they would see more progress. Cf.https://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2017/10/07/190124 …

Depends on what you mean by short term. Projections of impact of embryo selection is difficult because it depends on the uptake and the future effectiveness. I think the latter will be high, but uptake is hard to guess at.
