Excellent target for selection. Unfortunately, no info about polygenic score validity. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2018/03/23/287987 …pic.twitter.com/uPlkjVoLrq

Wouldn’t this itself be provisional evidence of validity pending rep?

The p factor has been found many times using many datasets. Indeed, associations between psychiatric diagnosis have been known for decades, but it was only recently researchers started adopting a factor analytic perspective. Too much box thinking of clinical psychs/shrinks.

Right but there are a host of factor analytic studies now on P. If polygenic score shows unique associations with P is this not evidence for its validity?

The question makes no sense to me.

You say unfortunately no evidence of polygenic score validity above, yet is not this paper some evidence of just that?—it’s validity?

I meant the correlation effect size, not existence of validity -- already know that. I'm interested in prediction, so I want to know the correlation we can predict out of sample.

So basically you’re looking for some sort of meta-analytic effect as to the predictve significance of the polygenic score?

Not meta-analytic. Just a regular out of sample validation.

There’s some other similar work out there on common polygenic overlap in ASD/SSD...could bootstrap or Monte Carlo for rough estimate that will likely be close I’d imagine
