While affirmative action surely has some effect, you would get these results in any case, given that the frequency distributions of competence vary between races.

They would be smaller given equal thresholds. Possibly nearly nonexistent, it depends on the details.

Nice, thanks for the share. Not sure whether to be optimistic or pessimistic that so much is in decades old literature which hasn't entered the 'conversation'

Yeah, I certainly tend to find affirmative action of any kind rather objectionable when it comes to things such as doctors, firemen, engineers, et cetera. The only logic behind such AA would be if higher IQ people refused to provide service to certain areas.

It was marketed as a temporary measure "until" the racial differences would disappear Supreme court said in 2003. Well, it's been 15 of the 25 years now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grutter_v._Bollinger#Supreme_Court's_decision …pic.twitter.com/u7qf1Dg1to

Yes, I know. Of course, the liberal Justices on the U.S. Supreme Court disagreed that affirmative action must end in 25 years. In any case, though, the oppression argument doesn't work considering that Ashkenazi Jews have a history of oppression and yet have very high IQs.

Asians too. And Whites in various African countries. Besides, evidence back to the late 1800s suggest little change in Black-White gap since even slavery.

Completely agreed with all of this.

Is it dangerous for scholars' careers/reputations to publish findings like this? Has the climate around the publication of stuff like this changed at all? (for better or worse?)
