Could this be related to iodine deficiency? Occurence on the coast is notably lower.
Maybe, but this is old and probably unreliable data. I was merely retweeting because these kinds of data are potentially interesting, not bc I think this one is particularly interesting.

Hah! What an interesting response. I tweeted to illustrate that when we do datavizualisation we might want to interrogate whether the categories we use are helpful. The mapped levels are of course too unreliable to base any ad-hoc theorizing on. But it shows how our mind works.
