Herrnstein (1973) tells a similar story (actually, multiple stories) about being harassed by the same SDS group after his 1971 Atlantic article.

Someone should compile all these to some easily accessible place. Jensen's version is in the preface to his 1973 book if I'm not mistaken.
-
Do you mean Herrnstein's version?
-
No, I mean... Jensen's version, i.e. his description of his 'ordeal' (up until then).
-
Oh, I see. I haven't read Jensen's 1973 book. I assumed you meant Herrnstein's because his ordeal is also described in the opening of that book.
-
Different book. I also got the year wrong, it was his 1972 book. Put down whatever you are doing and read the preface. Seriously. http://emilkirkegaard.dk/arthurjensen/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Genetics-And-Education-Arthur-R.Jensen-384p.pdf …

Can't drop what I'm doing now. I'm working like crazy to wrap things up before the baby comes in less than 2 weeks.

When I was post-doc at U of Illinois Hirsch sought to figure out where I stood, suggesting we write a review of an evolutionary book (I forget which). When he saw what I wrote, it was the last I heard from him. He was looking for sympatico leftie to promote but I disappointed him

Sniff test succeeded!

Jensen's comments on what Hirsch said about the HER article remind me Hirsch was obsessed people had gotten a citation to Wilson or Trivers incorrect in exactly the same way. This meant that they must not have actually read them(!)--so in his mind that refuted what they wrote (!).
