I agree but I think there are strong theoretical considerations that should lead us to expect such an effect on marriage, and then other excellent reasons to expect that this would have an adverse effect on assimilation.

Im in Denmark, and we may have the best personal data in the world. But most of it is practically impossible to get permission to use.

In France we have the worst of both worlds: for various reasons data is often lacking, and even when it exists, you usually have to go through gatekeepers who, shall we say, are not exactly ideologically neutral...
