Thanks for this. I agree with many points in the article but others are taking me completely out of my moral comfort zone. I’m going to have to spend some time mulling it over.
Perhaps I should have taken your advice because what 23 year old me did was write the down the obvious thoughts I had on the topic. Turns out 5 years later, these are very good to quotemine by ideological opponents.

I’ve been trying a thought experiment of sorts. I’m pushing myself to delve into controversial topics in order to see if I actually change my own views if I gain more insight into what the research shows.

One idea would be to test yourself using order effects. You could pick, say, 10 contro topics and pick 20 books on them with opposite views (2 for each). Then read them in randomly ordered pairs. Order effects would be suspicious.
