If IQ is increasing over time, why are paranormal & conspiracy beliefs not going down (IQ cor. ≈- .30)? Role of need for cognition/analytical style? http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0191886917306323 …

Think Murray says in TBC that the Flynn effect is due mostly to the lower tail of the distribution shifting to the right, rather than the whole distribution moving. Moving from IQ of 85 to 90 isn't going to dispel religious beliefs necessarily

The Flynn effect shows that IQ tests are of limited use in measuring IQ across disparate environments. Comparing the 6th form at Eton to each other, fine. Comparing them to Inner city Bengalis, useless.

Does not follow. FE is about temporal shifts, not geographical.

Same thing. Change of environment, not genes.
