      Maaaybe. Burglary much more financially rewarding. Think it makes more sense to see robbery as male rivalry violence with a trophy

      Exactly my assumption. If you want cash, burglary is lower risk and much higher reward. Mugging is about dominance, hence choice of victim

      A Home Office study a few years ago interviewed muggers and found that the financial rewards were minimal - their main motive was sadism.
