I absolutely 100% believe that robbery is not about money. Or at best only partlyhttps://twitter.com/EPoe187/status/918629894434803712 …

I agree with partly, because it is about more. But certainly money is part of the motive (at least, usually)

Special laws. (My guess is prosecutors much more likely to push up to felony level.) e.g.https://www.wklaw.com/crimes-against-elderly-or-disabled-persons/ …

Possible! Though the amounts gained by robbery are so small that it's hard to imagine punishment has a big role

Robbers target the young because they are more available, and because many targets weak people they know already.

Maaaybe. Burglary much more financially rewarding. Think it makes more sense to see robbery as male rivalry violence with a trophy

A lot of male-male competition (MMC) blurs into resource competition - difficult to disentangle. Higher in MMC self-select into muggings?

Exactly my assumption. If you want cash, burglary is lower risk and much higher reward. Mugging is about dominance, hence choice of victim

And we're assuming here that criminals know this. Rational choice theory pretty questionable in general. :p
