Great way to look at it. What do you think of Pinker's "the mind is what the brain does"?
Not my idea. Kenneth Stern, my internet philosophy teacher told me it years ago. Didn't read Pinker's book, generally avoid phil of mind.

IMO neuroscience is in its infancy, very unreliable state of science, doing philosophy of mind at this stage is immature.

I'd say Pinker's How the Mind Works is on modularity and EP. Do you consider massive modularity philosophy of mind?

No, but why would I read a 20 years old book to learn about neuroscience and EP? Doesn't make sense.
