Isnt the convention to use words when the number is smaller than 12, numerals for greater? How does that hide smll sample size?
No one should use ever words to state sample size. Numerals are much easier to locate by skimming. I bet there will be an effect for >12 too
I was taught numerals for <10, and for the first word of a sentence. Copy editors change it all the time though when publishing
I mean written, obviously
Taught in Denmark too, but this won't account for any (potential) findings with n>10 and word/numeral use.
