How racism looks like. I recommend keeping this in mind when you choose a doctor. https://www.reddit.com/r/slatestarcodex/comments/6ht96t/culture_war_roundup_for_week_following_june_17/dja5oey/ …pic.twitter.com/ftVX5uvMDg

Irrelevant race discrimination at entry implies people will want to do rational & relevant race discrimination later.

I am in med school and I advise premeds. For lower-performing kids, I jokingly tell them to "become Black." I will create Rachel Dolezal

Data from 1996. Cannot replicate because new test prep stuff (UWorld/Pathoma) --> massive Flynn Effect. But race/MCAT still predict STEP-1

Massive Flynn Effect since 1996? Can you elaborate?

Sorry, "Flynn Effect" probably bad word choice, but best way I could describe it.

Since 1996, people prepare a lot more for STEP-1, and use increasingly sophisticated preparation schemes and materials.

I just noticed, all asian points are lower than all black points here. Yikes. Why don't asians complain more?

Asians are the most discriminated against group for entrance testing. They seem to reply with even more test prepping and tiger moming.

Thank you Emil! Yes, this is interesting. It seems that this kind of data should be freely accessible but I can imagine why it isn't.

I suspect the disparity is not as huge for those who actually finish their studies. Still, a gross injustice & bad for competent blacks.
