Are you basing this on correlations with IQ, or are there specific twin studies or polygenic scoring tests targeting math ability?

tbh, I've talked to plenty of students struggling in math courses, and so far none have expressed that opinion to me.

I wonder if popular conception conflates intelligence w/ math ability more than with vocab size. That might explain the ire or lack thereof.

Look up the data from that Perceptions of Genius paper. Correlate with SAT V and SAT M, and you have the answer.
